Core and Premium plans
What the free Core plan includes, what Premium adds, how locked features look, and how to upgrade or change plan
On this page
TurfWise has two plans: Core, which is free forever, and Premium, which unlocks the whole platform for your course.
This article explains what's in each, what you'll see when something isn't included, and how to move between them.
What's the difference at a glance?
Core -- free
- £0, forever -- no card and no trial clock
- 1 site (one course or venue)
- Up to 6 login users, including the owner
- 90 days of history
- Local AI
Premium
- £590 a year, or £59 a month
- 1 site
- Unlimited login users
- Full history
- Cloud AI included
Staff records are always free
The 6-user limit on Core counts people with a login. You can add staff records for your whole team without a login, plan their work and track them, and it won't use a seat. See Adding your team.
What can I do on Core?
Core is the daily loop: the everyday jobs that replace the notebook and the group chat. It includes:
- The phone app and the desktop
- Today -- the daily command centre and morning briefing
- Capture -- quick notes and photos, plus voice notes on the phone app
- The work planner and tasks (under Work)
- QR machinery pre-start checks, and photo defects that turn into fault jobs
- Basic agronomy logging, including spray and nutrient records
- Work-aware team chat
- Ask TurfWise -- questions answered from your records, and how-to questions answered from these help articles
- Reporting a safety problem -- someone hurt, a near miss or something that's not safe, under H & S (see Incidents and near misses)
- The satellite course map
- Personal clock in and out, so each person can log their own hours
What does Premium add?
Premium includes everything in Core, plus:
- Unlimited users and full history
- Staff time and attendance -- GPS clock-in, timesheets and payroll exports, TOIL and holiday, shift patterns, skills and training expiry
- Disease models, plus weather station integration
- Full machinery -- service schedules, parts, fuel and running costs
- Finance -- budgets, invoices (including AI invoice scanning), suppliers and purchasing
- Health & safety and compliance -- COSHH, risk assessments, managing and reading injury records, RIDDOR, site checks and training
- Reports -- committee-ready reports and the Evidence Brief
- Library -- the club's document area
- Projects -- project tracking and bills of quantities
- Irrigation -- the water balance, the lake, your irrigation network and the Irrigation System Designer (under Irrigation › System › Design). Measured soil moisture readings stay free
- Cloud AI features, such as AI invoice scanning
How do I know if something needs Premium?
On Core, a small padlock marks the pages that are part of Premium. They stay in the lists that open from the top bar, so you can see what's there. For example, pages in Money (Finance), Records (Projects, the Library and Reports), H & S (assessments and site checks) and Irrigation (the Designer under System) carry a padlock.
Other places, like Team & kit (Staff and Machinery) and Course, open on Core but have some Premium pages inside them. Irrigation opens on Core too, but most of it is Premium -- on Core you can log and review measured soil moisture readings.
When you open something Premium-only, you'll see a short explanation of what it does, with two buttons:
- See Premium -- takes you to Settings › Plan & billing
- Back to -- returns you to the place's main page, or to Today if the whole place is locked
The setup wizard follows the same rule. On Core it skips the Working Week, Break Times, Benchmarking and Finance steps, because those set up Premium features.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Only a club admin can change the plan.
Open Plan & billing
Click your initial in the top bar, choose Settings, then click Plan & billing. Or click See Premium on any locked page.
Choose annual or monthly
Click Upgrade — £590/year, or or £59/month if you'd rather pay monthly.
Pay securely
You'll go to Stripe's secure checkout to enter your card. TurfWise never sees or stores your card details.
You're on Premium
Back in TurfWise, you'll see "Payment received — activating Premium for your club", then "Welcome to Premium". Everything unlocks straight away. Nobody needs to sign out, and nothing needs moving.
If you change your mind at checkout, nothing is charged and your club stays on Core.
What happens if we go back to Core?
An admin can cancel Premium at any time from Plan & billing. Your club keeps Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, then moves to Core.
Nothing is deleted. Your data, jobs and records all stay. Premium modules lock again, and you won't be able to create new logins while your club has 6 or more. You can resume Premium before the end date and nothing changes at all.
See Plan and billing for invoices, payment details and switching between annual and monthly.
Common questions
Can we stay on Core for as long as we like?
Yes. Core is free forever, with no trial clock. Upgrade when your club needs the rest, and the locked pages will tell you what each Premium feature does in the meantime.
Do we pay per user?
No. Premium is one price for the club with unlimited logins.
We have more than one course
Both plans cover one site today. If your club runs more than one course, get in touch with support to talk it through.
How much AI do we get?
Core uses local AI. Premium includes cloud AI, such as invoice scanning and drafting in documents. Ask TurfWise is free on every plan and explains its allowance.
