Height of Cut
Keep the current cutting height for every surface, record each change with a note, and see how heights have moved through the season
Height of Cut is the club's record of what every surface is being cut at right now, and when and why it last changed.
Open Team & kit > Machinery > Setup > Height of Cut. It's included on Core.
What's on the page?
Eight cards, one per surface: Greens, Tees, Fairways, Semi Rough, Surrounds, Rough, Garden Lawn and Driving Range. Each shows the current height and the date it was last changed, or Not set if nothing has been recorded yet.
The MM / Inches toggle in the top corner switches every figure on the page. Heights are stored in millimetres whichever you type in, so nothing is lost by switching.
Below the cards, History draws a chart for each surface that has more than one record, so you can see the season's rises and falls at a glance.
How do I record a change?
Click the surface's card
The Update form for that surface opens underneath, with its typical range shown — a guide, not a limit.
Type the new height
In millimetres or inches, depending on the toggle. The box starts with the current height so you can see what you're changing from.
Add a note and record it
The note is optional but worth the ten seconds — "Lowered for tournament week" tells next year's you why. Click Record Change.
With a surface selected, its Change Log appears at the bottom: every record for that surface with the date, the height and the note.
Record the setting, not the bench
This is the height you've set the units to. Keep it in step with what you actually do in the shed, and record the change the day you make it — a log that says greens were 4 mm all summer when they were at 3.5 mm from June will mislead you when you compare it with green speed or quality.
Nothing is deleted
Each record is a new line in the history, so the chart is a true account of the season. If you mistype a height, record the right one straight after with a note saying so.
What's it for?
On its own it stops the "what are we on?" question. Alongside Greens Speed and Green Quality on the Course hub it does more: when speed drops or quality changes, the Change Log is the first place to look for what moved and when.
