Day Overview

Check a day before the crew go out — who's in, whether their work fits, machines, anything left over, and the weather

On this page

Day Overview tells you whether a day is ready to go: who's in, whether everyone's work fits their hours, whether the machines are free, and what's left over from before. Open it from Work › Prepare › Day Overview, or open Day Overview. It's for managers and deputies with management access.

Is the day ready?

The green card at the top answers it. Pick the day with Today, Tomorrow, the arrows or the date, and it says one of these:

  • Nothing on it yet: nobody has any work planned for that day.
  • Not yet · Still N% of time available: someone has nothing on, routine jobs are missing, or jobs are waiting in Holding.
  • Nearly · N to sort: the plan is there, but there are things to sort first.
  • Yes · ready for the crew: everything checked came back clear.

Same answer as the Schedule

The headline is worked out exactly as the card on the Schedule, so the two pages always agree. Change the plan and the answer follows.

The four tiles underneath show who's in, how much of their time is planned, how many machines are ready, and how many checks couldn't be made. Check again reads everything fresh.

What do I need to sort?

To sort before the crew go out lists everything that needs you, most urgent first. Each item has a label and one button:

  • Clash: someone has more work than time, or a job falls outside their hours, a break or their leave.
  • Machine: a machine is booked on two jobs at once, or it's down or faulty.
  • Leave to approve: leave is waiting for you. It isn't taken off anyone's hours until you approve it.
  • Service overdue and Safety follow-up: servicing or a safety action that's past its date.
  • Left over: a job that wasn't finished the day before.

Use the button to go straight to the job, machine or record and put it right there. Day Overview never changes anything by itself.

What does "Couldn't check" mean?

It means something is missing, so a check couldn't be made. It does not mean everything is fine. These are grouped by cause, with the fix beside them. For example, "3 jobs have no machine set" means clashes and training can't be checked for those jobs until you add a machine.

Never an all-clear

If the checks can't be read at all, the card says so. Don't treat a failed check as a clear day; look at the plan directly.

Who's in?

Who's in lists everyone working that day, with their hours and how much of their time is planned. It shows Over, Full, how many hours are free, or Nothing on. People with no shift or on leave are folded into one line underneath.

Tap a name to jump to their lane on the Schedule.

Part days

Part-day leave comes off the end of the shift, and unpaid breaks are already taken off the hours.

What's the weather doing?

The weather card follows the day you're checking. It says the day in one sentence, then shows four tiles: the spray window on your own limits, rain, wind and temperature. The bar underneath shows the day at a glance: dark, spray window, rain, too windy or dry. Open Hour by hour for the figures.

The hour-by-hour forecast reaches about two days ahead. Further out, you'll see the daily outlook instead. Show the week opens the week's rain and spray outlook.

Your spray limits are set in Settings › Club & course › Weather & integrations.

I'm new. Why does it ask me to set things up?

Day Overview checks a plan against your team, their working hours and your machines. Until those are in, it can't check anything, so the card shows the four things to set up instead:

1

Add your team

Add the people who work on the course in Staff.

2

Set working hours

Set your shift patterns in Settings › People & attendance › Shift patterns, so everyone's time can be counted.

3

Add your machines

Add your fleet in Machinery, so machines can be checked.

4

Plan the day

Add a job or lay out your routine in the Work Planner.

What gets checked, at the bottom of the page, explains each check in a line.

What isn't checked yet?

Weather limits on individual jobs, course conditions and materials aren't checked yet. Day Overview reads what's recorded in TurfWise, so it doesn't replace walking the course or a look at the machine before it goes out.

Getting ready for something?

The bottom of the page links to Events Prep, Course Closures, Direction of Cut and Weather Reminders, with any competition or closure coming up in the next four weeks.
