Upload a supplier price list
Upload a supplier's PDF price list and TurfWise pulls out the products, order codes, pack sizes and prices for you to check and import into your catalogue
On this page
Upload a supplier's price list and TurfWise reads the products and prices out of it, so you can check them and add them all to your catalogue in one go.
Save time
Typing a supplier's whole range into the catalogue by hand could take a day. Uploading the price list gets you a ready-made list to check, and a new year's prices replace the old ones in a single import.
This is part of Premium. You need permission to import to the catalogue, which managers and admins normally have.
Which files can I upload?
The upload box accepts PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX) and CSV files up to 20MB.
Only PDFs are read automatically at the moment
TurfWise can only pull products out of PDF price lists today. A Word, Excel or CSV file uploads, but processing fails with a message saying only PDF is supported. If your supplier sends a spreadsheet, ask them for the PDF version, or add the products by hand.
The reading works best on a typed PDF laid out as a table, with order codes, descriptions, pack sizes and prices. It reads the text in the PDF, so a scanned or photographed list (a picture of the page with no real text in it) won't work.
How do I upload a price list?
Click Money in the top bar, then Buying & stock › Price lists.
Upload the file
Click Upload price list at the top of the page. Choose the Supplier, give it a Pricelist Name such as "Price Guide 2026", pick the file and click Upload.
Let TurfWise process it
Processing starts as soon as the upload finishes. Switch to the Pricelists view to follow it: it moves from Pending to Review when it's ready. If it shows Failed, click Retry.
Review the products
Click Review. Across the top you'll see Products to import, Excluded, Warnings and Pages scanned. Products are grouped by category, and you can search them or filter by category.
Fix anything that's wrong
Click Edit item on a row to correct the Order code, Description, Category, Sub-category, Pack size or prices, then Save changes. Use Exclude from import for anything you don't want, such as a heading read as a product. Move all to shifts a whole category at once.
Import
Click Confirm Import, then Import to confirm. You'll see "Pricelist confirmed successfully" and the products are in your catalogue.
A new list replaces the old one
Importing makes this the supplier's Active price list. Any earlier active list for that supplier becomes Superseded, so you're always ordering at current prices.
What should I check before importing?
The reading is automatic, so give it a once-over:
- Warnings — read them first. They point at lines that didn't read cleanly.
- Prices — spot-check a few against the PDF, especially products with several price tiers.
- Pack sizes — make sure a 20kg bag hasn't become a 20L can.
- Categories — tidy these now and the catalogue is much easier to search later.
Once it's imported, you can price up orders from it. See Purchasing.
