Your First Login
What to expect when you first log in, how to set up your account, and what to do on day one
When you first log in to TurfWise, you'll set up your account and land on the Today page. This article walks you through everything from clicking the invitation link to knowing your way around on day one.
What this page does
This article covers the one-time setup process for new users. It explains what you need before you start, what each step asks for, and what to do if something goes wrong.
When you would use this
- You've just received a TurfWise invitation email
- You're logging in for the very first time
- Your invitation link isn't working and you need to troubleshoot
- You want a checklist for your first day
Before you click the invitation link
Have these ready so setup goes smoothly:
- A secure password you can store safely (use a password manager if you have one).
- Your job title as you want it to appear on reports (for example, "Head Greenkeeper" not "HGK").
- Your course postcode or GPS coordinates -- TurfWise uses these for weather data, disease risk models, and spray windows. If you're unsure, your club's address postcode will do to start with.
Multiple courses at your club?
If your club has more than one course, confirm with your administrator which course or account you should be joining before you complete setup.
How to set up your account (step by step)
Accept your invitation
Check your inbox for an email from TurfWise. Click the setup link and create a secure password.
If you can't find the email, check your spam or junk folder. The email comes from TurfWise, not your club.

Complete your profile
Enter your name, job title, and contact details. This information appears on reports and is visible to your team, so use the wording you'd want on a committee report.
Confirm your course location
TurfWise uses your GPS coordinates to pull accurate weather data, calculate disease risk, and determine spray windows. If your course is large, set the pin to your greenkeeping compound or the centre of the course.
TurfWise can auto-detect coordinates from your postcode, but manual adjustment gives better accuracy.
Land on the Today page
Once setup is complete, you'll land on the Today page -- your daily command centre. Take a moment to look around.

Getting around after your first login
Desktop
The sidebar on the left gives you access to all sections. Each section label tells you what's inside. Click any section to see its landing page.
Mobile
On phones and tablets, tap the menu icon (three lines, top-left) to open the full navigation. It shows the same sections as the desktop sidebar.
Command palette
Press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K on Mac) to open the command palette. This is the fastest way to jump to any page. Just start typing -- for example, type "spray" and you'll see the Spray Logger and Spray Decision pages appear.
Try the command palette now
It searches page names, descriptions, and keywords. Once you get used to it, you'll rarely need to click through menus.
First-day checklist
Work through this after your first login:
- Confirm your profile details are correct (name, job title, contact info).
- Confirm the correct course is selected and the location pin is accurate.
- Open Today and review the weather and disease briefing.
- Open Work and check today's planned tasks.
- Open Settings > Notifications and enable Training Certification Alerts so you're notified when qualifications are due.
You don't need to set everything up at once
The essentials are your profile, course location, and notification preferences. Everything else -- staff records, task templates, machinery -- can be added over the coming days and weeks.
Common problems and fixes
My invitation link does not work
- Check you opened the most recent invitation email. Older links expire.
- Make sure the full URL opened -- email clients sometimes truncate long links, especially in forwarded messages.
- Ask your administrator to resend the invitation from TurfWise.
- If you're still stuck, email support@turfwise.co.uk with your club name and a screenshot of the error.
I can't find the invitation email
Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, ask your club administrator to resend it. The email comes from TurfWise, so it may be caught by your email provider's filters.
I set up my account but I can't see all the sections
Your visibility depends on your role. If you're expecting to see Finance, Health and Safety, or Projects and they're missing, ask your administrator to check your role in TurfWise. Only Head Greenkeeper, Course Manager, and Admin roles can see the admin sections (People, Finance, Health & Safety, Projects).
Good habits from day one
- Bookmark the Today page so you can get to TurfWise quickly each morning.
- Enable Training Certification Alerts in Settings > Notifications so expiring qualifications don't catch you off guard.
- Use the command palette (Ctrl + K) instead of clicking through menus. It's faster.
Where this fits in TurfWise
Your profile details feed into reports, committee packs, and task assignments. Getting your name and job title right now saves editing them on every report later.
Your course location drives the weather engine, disease prediction models, and spray window calculations. If this is wrong, those features will give you inaccurate results.
