Welcome to TurfWise
What TurfWise does, how it is organised, and where to start
TurfWise is a course management platform built by a Head Greenkeeper, for greenkeepers. It replaces spreadsheets, paper logs, and disconnected systems with one place for daily planning, turf intelligence, spray records, machinery tracking, and committee reporting.
TurfWise Today page
This article refers to a live TurfWise screen. Media is omitted here so the written steps stay current across releases.
What this page does
This is your starting point. It explains how TurfWise is laid out so you know where things live before you start clicking.
If you only read one help article, make it this one.
How is TurfWise organised?
The sidebar has seven sections that everyone sees, plus an admin area that only managers and admins can access.
The seven main sections
Today
Your daily command centre. This is where you land when you log in. It shows weather conditions, disease risk, today's tasks, alerts, and a quick log tool for capturing notes on the go.
Work
Everything related to getting work done. The work board, daily and weekly planning, your staff list, and task templates (templates are only visible to managers and above).
Course
Turf conditions at a glance. The conditions dashboard (turf intelligence), disease and stress tracking, course closure assessments, and hole maps.
Weather + Spraying
Weather dashboard, rainfall and wetness tracking, spray logging, and application history. This is separate from Course because weather and spraying have their own workflows.
Machinery
Fleet overview, overdue services, fault and issue reporting, and the service timeline. Everything you need to keep machines running.
Reports
Weekly reports, monthly reports, committee packs, and the export centre. This is where all your data turns into something you can hand to a committee or file for compliance.
Settings
Your profile, course setup, notifications, weather integrations, and system configuration. Some settings pages are only visible to managers or admins.
Admin area (managers and admins only)
If your role is Head Greenkeeper, Course Manager, or Admin, you'll also see four extra sections below the main sidebar:
- People -- staff list, absence tracking, skills matrix, and training compliance
- Finance -- budget overview, invoices, supplier spend, and forecasts
- Health & Safety -- H&S dashboard, incidents, inspections, risk assessments, and COSHH
- Projects -- capital works with Gantt charts, bill of quantities, and contractor management
Don't worry about memorising all of this
Each section has its own landing page that shows everything inside it. If you're not sure where something lives, click the section name and browse. You'll find it.
When you would use TurfWise
- Every morning -- check Today for weather, disease risk, staffing issues, and the day's tasks
- During the day -- log work, record spray applications, report faults, capture observations with Quick Log
- End of week -- review completed work, generate the weekly report
- Monthly or quarterly -- pull committee packs, review budgets, check training compliance

Move to Work for task planning
Create or assign tasks, check who's available, and review the week ahead.
Review Course and Weather + Spraying before field decisions
Check turf conditions, disease forecasts, and spray windows before committing to weather-sensitive work.
Use Reports when you need outputs
Generate weekly reports, monthly summaries, or committee packs from the data you've been logging.
Your Today page
When you log in, the Today page gives you a morning briefing that pulls together weather, disease risk, your task plan, alerts, and staffing issues into one view. It is designed so you can glance at it with your morning coffee and know exactly what the day looks like.
The page refreshes automatically every 5 minutes and when you switch back to the browser tab.
Add your course photo
You can upload a photo of your course as the Today page background. Look for the Add your course photo button in the top-right corner. After uploading, you can drag to reposition so the best part of your course is visible.
