Safety Inspections

Record site and equipment safety inspections, pass or fail them, set corrective actions and keep the next inspection date in view

On this page

Inspections are your record of the safety checks you carry out around the site — fire safety, first aid, electrical, work equipment and more — with what was found and when the next one is due. They're the Done view of Site checks.

Premium

Safety inspections are part of Premium, along with the rest of H & S.

Where are inspections?

Click H & S, then Site checks, then Done. The page lists every inspection you've recorded and shows how many you have, how many Passed and Failed, and how many are Overdue. The other views, Due, Regular checks and Examinations, are in Site checks.

Search by type, inspector or location, and filter by status (Scheduled, Completed or Overdue) and result (Passed or Failed). Each row shows the result and when it is next due. Click any inspection to open it.

How do I record an inspection?

Click Record a check at the top of Site checks.

1

Choose the type

Pick the Inspection Type: Equipment, Area, PUWER (Work Equipment), Fire Safety, First Aid, General Safety, Electrical or PPE.

2

When, where and who

Enter the Inspection Date, the Next Inspection Date, the Location (for example "Maintenance Shed" or "Workshop") and the Inspector Name.

3

Link equipment if it applies

If you're inspecting a specific machine or piece of equipment, tick This is an equipment inspection and enter its ID.

4

Record the result

Choose Passed, Failed or Not Yet Completed. If it failed, add each Failure Reason.

5

Findings and actions

Write up your Findings / Notes. Click Add Corrective Action for anything that needs fixing, with the person responsible and a due date. Then click Create Inspection.

Always record the result

The Next Inspection Date shows in the Next due column, so you can see what's coming up. An inspection saved with a date that's already passed but no result (Not Yet Completed) is marked Overdue, and counts against you on this page and on the H & S overview until you record whether it passed or failed.

How do I correct an inspection?

Open the inspection and click Edit. You can change the outcome, the dates, who carried it out and what they found. Corrective actions are added when the inspection is first recorded.

From the same page you can Delete an inspection — you'll be asked to confirm, because it can't be undone.

How do inspections appear in the safety overview?

The overview can flag recorded overdue inspections and missing results, with a link to the source. It does not turn inspection counts into an overall compliance percentage. Having no inspection records leaves coverage unresolved.

Completed inspections are also available to your team in the TurfWise mobile app, so they can see what was found.

Are these the same as machinery pre-use checks?

No. Inspections here are the periodic safety checks you record for the site and its equipment. The quick checks operators do before using a machine each day are pre-use checks, which live in Machinery — see Pre-use checks and QR tags.
