Setting up Irrigation

Work through the four-step Setup checklist — irrigated surfaces, your system, meters and licence, and bringing in your records

On this page

Setup is a short checklist that gets Irrigation ready to answer "do we water tonight?" — you do it once and TurfWise ticks each step off as the information goes in.

Where do I find it?

Click Irrigation in the top bar, then Setup. The page opens on the first step that isn't done yet. Click any step to open it, or Next step to move on.

Each step shows Done or To do, and the top of the page shows how many of the four you've finished. Nothing is saved as a tick-box: a step counts as done because the information is there.

Premium

The checklist itself is open to every club, but most steps need Premium and show a Premium panel on Core. See Core and Premium plans.

What are the four steps?

1

Irrigated surfaces

Switch on each course area you water. Tonight works out what every irrigated surface needs from these. Done once at least one surface is switched on. See Water balance. Your areas come from Course areas.

2

Your system

Your water source, pumps and mains. With nothing set up, a wizard walks you through it. Done once a system or a pump exists. See Stations, pumps and the course map.

3

Meters and licence

The main meter and any sub-meters, their readings, and your abstraction licence if you take water from a borehole or river. Done once a meter exists.

4

Bring in your records

Import stations, sprinklers and your old repair sheet from a CSV or Excel file. Done once at least one station exists. See Import your irrigation network.

Run reports are not here yet

The last step lists a controller run report, marked Coming. It isn't built yet, so log runs on Tonight with Log a run until it is.

What if a step says "Not checked"?

TurfWise couldn't read how far you'd got — for example, if the page was still loading or the step needs Premium. The step still opens, and you can carry on.
