How the Settings directory is organised, what each group of settings is for, and who can change them

Settings is one directory of every setting in TurfWise, grouped by topic so you can find what you need without clicking through tabs.
Most settings apply to the whole club, so they're mainly for managers and admins. Everyone can change their own password.
Open full-size image ↗How do I find a setting?
Click your initial at the right of the top bar, then Settings. Settings opens in its own window, with the groups listed down the left-hand side and each group's pages beneath it. The Settings home page shows the same groups as a set of cards, each listing its pages with a one-line description.
Not sure which group something is in? Type in the Search settings… box on the Settings home page. It searches page names, descriptions and group names as you type.
Click any page to open it. Most settings pages have an All settings link at the top to bring you back to the directory.
A few entries open the page in the module they belong to. For example, Skill definitions and Qualifications open Staff's Skills & training page, and VAT rate and Payroll costs open Finance's settings.
You'll only see what your role allows
The directory only lists pages your role can use. If a setting you need is missing, ask your club's admin. Some pages, like Security policy and Data & backups, are for admins only.
Premium
A few settings belong to Premium modules: Budgets & financial year, VAT rate, Payroll costs, Fuel costs, Skill definitions and Qualifications. On Core they're still listed, but the page opens locked. See Core and Premium plans.
What's in each group?
Club & course
The basic facts about your club and course.
- Club details & branding -- club name, address, logo, regional settings and benchmarking. Admins also get Reopen Setup here, to run the setup wizard again.
- Courses & routings -- courses, 9-hole loops, routings and what's in play each day
- Weather & integrations -- your weather location, weather station and spray safety thresholds
- Shed displays -- pair and manage the screens in your shed (managers and admins)
- Green lists -- the greens used for speed and clipping records
People & attendance
How your team's time, skills and training are set up.
- Shift patterns -- rotas, seasons and weekend cover
- Annual leave -- allowances, holiday year and carryover
- Break times -- break windows and durations
- Attendance & clock rules -- clock-in locations and attendance rules
- Calendar -- working days, holidays and key dates
- Skill definitions -- skills and proficiency levels
- Qualifications -- certificates and renewal periods
- Training requirements -- what's needed before work can begin
- Competencies -- your in-house sign-off manual for machine familiarisations and task competencies

Planner & machinery
Defaults for planning work and running the fleet.
- Task templates -- reusable tasks and resource defaults
- Planner defaults -- shift times, durations and weather rules
- Direction of cut -- mowing directions and rotation plans
- Weather reminders -- task alerts triggered by the forecast
- Fuel costs -- fuel prices used in machinery costs
- Checklist templates -- checks before machinery is used
- Height of cut -- cutting heights by area and season

Do settings affect everyone?
Almost all of them, yes. The note at the bottom of the directory says it plainly: club settings apply across the whole workspace. Changing the currency, a shift pattern or a task template changes it for every user at your club.
The exceptions are your own password and your Notifications choice, which only affect you.
Talk to your team before changing shared settings
Things like units, date format and shift patterns shape what everyone sees and records. Agree changes first, especially before your team has started logging data.
Common problems and fixes
"No settings available"
Your role doesn't include any settings pages. Ask your club's admin.
"No matching settings"
Nothing matched your search. Try a shorter word, or clear the search box.
Settings sent me to the setup wizard
If your club hasn't finished setup, admins are taken to the setup wizard first. Complete it, then Settings opens as normal.
I changed a setting but a page still shows the old value
Refresh the page. Some pages keep what they loaded until you reload.
