Growth
See whether the grass is growing — daily growth for irrigated and non-irrigated turf, the days ahead, and growing degree days
The Growth page answers one question: is the grass growing, and how fast will it grow this week?

What does the green card mean?
The card shows a one-line answer and four figures:
- Yesterday · irrigated turf — yesterday's growth for greens and tees, from recorded weather.
- Days ahead, average — the forecast average, with the lowest day.
- Non-irrigated areas — fairways and rough, held back further when the soil is dry.
- GDD since … — growing degree days from the date you choose, base 6 °C.
Growth is a 0–100% figure for how close the turf is to its best growth rate. It's the same figure you see on Today and the Weekly Outlook.
How is growth worked out?
Why it's where it is shows the working. TurfWise takes the day and night temperatures, weights each by the hours they last, then holds growth back when there's less than 12 hours of daylight.
Past days use your recorded weather — your own station if you have one. Days ahead use the forecast. Your course location must be set, or daylight can't be worked out.
What's on the rest of the page?
Recorded and the week ahead
A chart of growth by day. The solid line is recorded weather, the dashed line is forecast, and the amber line is non-irrigated turf. The bands are Good (50% and over), Limited and Extremely limited (10% or less). Pick 30 days, 90 days or Season.
Day by day
A table of each day's high and low, daylight, growth, GDD and whether it was recorded or forecast. It shows the latest 10; Show all opens the rest.
Growing degree days
The running total and a bar chart of the last 14 recorded days. Use Count from to choose the 1st of this month, last month, 1 March or 1 January. Days with no recorded weather are left out, not guessed.
Save time
Download CSV gives you every day in the chosen period, ready for a committee report or your agronomist.
Checking the model
Log clippings takes you to Clipping Yield. Box counts there show whether the mower agrees with the model. PGR re-application windows opens the PGR Tracker.
