Members' page
Keep members up to date from one public link — today's course conditions, posts with photos and videos, and what's happening around the course
On this page
The Members' page is a public page your members open from one link: is the course open today, can I take a buggy or a trolley, what's the team working on, and what's coming up. You keep it up to date from the Members' page in TurfWise, from the card on Today, or from the phone app.
Click Records in the top bar, then choose Reports › Members Reports › Members' page, or go straight to Members' page. It's included on Core and Premium.
Save time
- Conditions haven't changed? Click Still the same — post again, or Still the same on the Today card, and yesterday's update goes up again unchanged.
- Set up your usual days once as templates ("Normal summer", "Frost", "Wet day"). Then it's one tap and Update the page.
- A course closure assessment shows on the page by itself, and a weekly report posts itself when you publish it.
- Post photos and video straight from the phone with Capture › Post to members.
Is my page up to date?
The green card at the top answers that. It says whether the page is live and when members last heard from you, and shows the page's web address.
- New post takes you to the post form.
- Copy link copies the address, ready for an email, the club website or a WhatsApp group.
- Open page shows the page as members see it.
- Poster opens an A4 poster with a QR code to the page, for the clubhouse noticeboard. Print it from there.
- Switch page off (managers) hides the page: members get a "not found" page until you switch it back on. Nothing you've posted is lost.
Your page goes live the first time a manager posts.
How do I update today's course conditions?
Course conditions fills the Course today card at the top of the members' page. For 18 hours it reads as today's status; after that members still see it, dated, as the last update, so post it each morning. A newer course closure assessment replaces it (see Course Closure). If your club has more than one course, pick the course first: each has its own update, templates and Still the same.
Start from something
Under Start from, pick one of your templates, Last update, This morning's assessment (when there is one), or Start blank.
Check the details
Course (Open, Restricted or Closed), Buggies (Allowed, Paths only, 90° rule or Not allowed), Trolleys and Preferred lies. Buggies and trolleys each take a short note, such as "winter wheels only". Add Temporary greens and Temporary tees if you have them, a status for each loop or area under By loop or area, and a Note for members.
Post it
Members will see shows the card as it will read. Click Update the page (or Update and the course's name).
To keep a day for next time, click Save as template and give it a name. Changed a template's day? Save changes to that template, or post it as a one-off.
Only managers can change the course conditions.
How do I post an update?
Use New post:
- Title, and the Message. The toolbar does bold, italics, headings, lists and links (Ctrl + B, I or K, or ⌘ on a Mac). Preview shows how it will look. Web addresses become links by themselves.
- Add photo or video: up to 8 per post. Videos can be up to 2 minutes on Core and 20 minutes on Premium. A video shows on the page once it has finished processing; until then the post says "video getting ready".
- Holes or areas and a Label (News, Course work or Video).
- Managers can Pin to the top or Schedule for later.
Click Post to members, or Save draft to finish it later.
The page is public
Only show staff or members who are happy to appear. TurfWise removes location data from photos.
Posts from staff
Staff can write posts too. Theirs say Send for approval, and a manager checks them before they go on the page: under Your posts › Waiting for approval, click Approve and post or Send back.
Your posts
Your posts groups everything by where it is: Waiting for approval, Scheduled, Live, Drafts and Taken down. From there you can Edit, Pin or Unpin, Take down (it comes off the page but isn't deleted) or Delete.
Ready to post from your records
When you record a course closure assessment, it shows on the page by itself unless you've posted newer conditions. Add a note turns it into a post you can add to. Weekly reports post themselves when you publish them (see Weekly and monthly reports).
What goes in Around the course?
Extra sections on the members' page, set by a manager. Each one only shows when it has something to say.
- Our ask this week: one request to members, such as repairing pitch marks.
- Coming up: work and events members should know about, with dates. Each shows on the page nearer the time.
- Ground under repair: areas golfers should treat as GUR. You can click the course map to pin each one, and mark it fixed when it's done.
- Automatic sections: In play today (which nines are in play, from today's routing), Frost warnings from your forecast, and Spray notices (where you sprayed today or yesterday, by area name only — never products, rates or who applied them). Spray notices are off until you turn them on.
How the course is playing
Cards in the column beside your posts, filled in from your records with nothing to type:
- Rain on the course shows yesterday's rain as litres on every square metre, because 1 mm on the gauge is 1 litre a square metre. Members get a picture they know: pints for a shower, range ball buckets for a wet day, and a golf ball's depth for a real downpour. The last seven days sit underneath. A day with no reading is never shown as dry.
- How fast the grass is growing says growing slowly, steadily or quickly, from the same growth figure as your Growth page. This card is for Premium clubs.
Where the team is today
This card lists today's planned jobs that have a course area and a time: the job, the area and the time, never who's doing it. Spraying and workshop jobs are left out, and if a job's name mentions someone, members just see the kind of work. It sits beside the rain and growth cards. It's off until you turn it on under Automatic sections.
Can I update it from Today or my phone?
On Today, the Update your members' page card sits under Conditions. It shows each course's status and when it was last updated, with Still the same to post the last update again unchanged, Update conditions and New post. Staff see the statuses and Suggest a post.
On the phone, open Capture › Post to members in the TurfWise app. Take a photo or record a video, write a line or two and post it. Staff send theirs for approval. Videos keep uploading if you close the app. See The TurfWise mobile app.
Common problems and fixes
- Members say the page isn't there. Check the green card: if it says the page is switched off, click Switch page on. A brand-new page goes live the first time a manager posts.
- The Course today card shows an older date. Conditions read as today's for 18 hours, then show as the last update with their date. Post again, or click Still the same.
- A video isn't showing yet. Videos show once they've finished processing. A video longer than your plan allows is refused.
- Staff can't change the conditions. Course conditions, Around the course and switching the page on or off are for managers. Staff can write posts for a manager to approve.
