Direction of Cut
Set the weekly mowing direction, perimeter cut and double cut for greens, aprons, tees and fairways, so the crew mow the right pattern
On this page
Direction of Cut sets which way each surface is mown on each day of the week, so the crew always know the pattern.
Click Work in the top bar, then Prepare › Direction of Cut. Anyone can view the pattern on Core. Changing it needs Premium.
What's on the page?
Tabs across the top switch between Greens, Aprons, Tees and Fairways. Each surface has its own weekly pattern.
Under Cutting days, click a day to turn cutting on or off for it. Each cutting day then shows a small diagram of the cut, with the direction of play marked.
Click a day's diagram to open its settings.
How do I set a day's pattern?
Pick the surface and day
Choose the surface tab, then click the day you want to change.
Choose a direction
Under Direction Preset, pick a preset such as Left to Right, Top to Bottom or Diagonal NW–SE, or choose Custom and set From (clock) and To (clock) positions. Fairways use Mowing Direction instead, with Left to Right, Right to Left or Straight Up & Down.
Add a perimeter cut
Under Perimeter Cut, choose None, Clockwise or Anti-clockwise. Fairways don't have a perimeter cut.
Add a double cut if needed
Under Double Cut, choose 2× Burn In (the same direction twice, to strengthen the stripe) or Diamond (a second pass at 90°, for a checkerboard), or leave it at a single pass. Greens don't have a double cut option.
Save
Add an optional note, such as "Double cut before tournament", then click Save.
Reset to Default puts the surface back to TurfWise's standard rotating week.
Save time
Set the pattern once and it repeats every week. The crew see it on their phones the same morning, so nobody needs telling at the start of the day.
On Core
On Core you can see the pattern, but Save and Reset to Default are replaced by an upgrade panel.
