Approvals
Check the week's clocked hours against the rota, fill in missed shifts, approve the week and send it to payroll
On this page
Approvals is where you check a week of clocked hours against the rota, put right anything that's missing or wrong, and sign the week off for payroll.

Approvals is one of the Time Clock manager tools, which need Premium.
Is the week ready for payroll?
The green card at the top answers that question in one line — for example "Not yet — 3 shifts have no clock times", "Nearly — …" or "Yes — every recorded shift is approved". Use the arrows to change week, or Today to come back to this one.
Four tiles sit under the answer:
- Missing — rostered shifts with no clock times
- Recorded — shifts with clock times, and how many are still waiting for approval
- Leave & TOIL — days off this week. Only approved leave and TOIL count; a request that's still awaiting approval doesn't.
- Hours — clocked hours against the hours on the rota
How do I work through the week?
Read the Weekly roster
Each person's week is laid out day by day against their rota. The key shows Recorded, Missing, Scheduled and Leave / TOIL.
Fix what's wrong
Click a red missing day to put the hours in, or a recorded day to change its times. The editor opens right under that person. Same as rota fills in the rota times, you can add breaks (paid or unpaid), and To pay shows the hours that will be paid.
Add an extra shift
Someone worked a Saturday, or came back in for the evening? Click any day up to today — a day off shows + Add — and put in the times. On a day that already has a shift, open it and click Add another shift this day. The editor lists every shift on that day under On this day, and a day with two shifts shows its total hours with "+1". Shifts can't overlap: TurfWise tells you which shift is in the way.
Give a reason
Every change needs a reason of at least 10 characters — it goes on the audit trail. Tap a quick reason such as Forgot to clock in or Phone had no signal to save typing. Then click Save shift.
Approve
Click Approve week. The number on the button is how many shifts it will approve — a day with two shifts counts as two. When there's nothing left, it reads All approved.
Offline shifts are approved one at a time
A shift recorded on a phone with no signal is left out of Approve week, because its times came from the phone rather than TurfWise. Check it, then click Approve on that shift in the roster.
Save time
Got several missing shifts? Click Fill missing shifts on the green card, then use Save · next missing — it saves the shift and opens the next red day, carrying your reason across. When you're done, Export at the top downloads the week's timesheet, and the Send to payroll / GM panel emails it as a Payroll CSV, Excel sheet or PDF.
What does Send to payroll / GM do?
It checks the week first. If anything is outstanding, it lists it and asks how each exception was resolved before it will send — your answer is recorded with your name and the time. It then emails the file to the addresses you enter. It isn't a direct link to payroll software.
You can't approve your own hours — another manager has to.
